A Year of Projects: Post # 1

Ahhhhh...I feel accomplished after a glorious New England weekend.  Spent the bulk of Saturday running around for DS's birthday party...he LOVED his presents (golf clubs, golf cart, homemade golf club cover, and his very own yarn and hooks from my a-mother and friend). He and my fiance went out both Saturday and Sunday to the golf course.

I treated myself to my first pedicure of the season yesterday and today, I'm rocking out my sandals at work.  So happy the weather is getting so beautiful out and loving that it's going to be near 70 degrees all week!

Yesterday while the boys were out, I sat down and worked on the baby blanket for my friend.  I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this one but it's coming out nicely.  Might end up being more of a small afghan instead of a carseat blanket but I'm okay with that.  I have until August after all.

I used cream for the middle v-stitch pattern and now I'm going to use the light brown and light blue for the outside double crochet stitches.  So far I'm happy with it.

  1. Too soon yet for pedicures and sandals here, most days I'm still wearing wool socks. Funny weather, that it's warmer in New England then in Ohio...envious. Nice start on the blanket...quality time while the boys are out.

    1. It's been such a strange winter here...just the huge snowstorm in October and then the little storm last week and now it's going to be gorgeous all week. I don't do well with the cold (and yet, I've lived in Massachusetts forever) so the minute I can toss the heavy boots and socks, I'm on it!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog...I need to catch up on everyone else's blogs but Ravelry is a bit wonky on my work computer. :)

  2. First of all, ho'omaka'i on your engagement and upcoming nuptials. My two cents is make sure you have a pointman/woman on the day of your wedding. Sometimes wedding planners don't do their job. Second is have a list of pictures you want taken for your photographer.
I loved reading about all the gifts your son got. What a terrific birthday he had! Love also that he hooks as well.
